Over 700 bombs & 33 tons of explosive recovered in Birbhum, India 

Police in Birbhum, a district in West Bengal, India, which has seen several bomb blast incidents in recent times, said they have recovered more than 700 bombs over the last few weeks as part of an operation to locate and shut bomb-making units.

This comes at the same time as Indian security agencies are on the alert after nearly 33,000kg of ammonium nitrate was seized from two trucks in the same district.

The first ten-wheeler truck was searched at Rampur village on National Highway 60 and 350 bags of ammonium nitrate was seized from the vehicle on Tuesday.

The second ten-wheeler truck was tracked down in the Panchami area of Birbhum and another 305 bags of ammonium nitrate was seized as they were being unloaded in a warehouse in Talbandh village.
