NIC manufacture a range of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) equipment for searching
and dealing with unexploded ordnance (UXO).
No unexploded ordnance can be dealt with until first located. NIC manufacture
an array of search equipment designed to help search teams quickly locate suspect
devices. These range from the large under vehicle mirror and telescopic search
arms to the full ‘Hawk’ search kit, which offers a complete search
solution, mounted in a back pack. NIC
search equipment
is designed to be used easily by security personnel, but attention is also
given to search teams who may be in full bomb suits, where movement is extremely
limited.
Once a suspect device has been identified NIC’s role continues in offering
solutions to deal with it.
Hook and line offers not only an access capability, but also solutions if the
device must be moved. The
NIC hook and line system
has a range of instruments designed to open or move doors, windows and a range
of other obstacles in the path of the device. The Hook and Line system may then
also be utilised to move the device if required. Once again, NIC’s emphasis
on design ensures that instruments may be used by personnel in full bomb suits
where movement is limited.
In many areas, personnel need to have a full EOD capability, but do not have
the resources to transport it, e.g. in post combat theatres. The NIC lightweight
modular EOD response pack offers a complete
EOD
capability in a back pack system. This system offers an excellent solution to
IEDD tasks as well, and can be tailored to suit customer’s
specific tasks. The pack offers reconnaissance instruments, access, search and
location, identification and diagnosis and render safe/neutralisation procedures.
NIC is the only company to manufacture such a complete solution for the management
of unexploded ordnance.
